The Collector of Revenue Office
The Collector of Revenue Office is one of the largest revenue-producing offices for the City ofSt. Louis. The office collects taxes for real estate, personal property, and earnings tax. The office also collects funds for the Water Department and the Metropolitan Sewer District. The Collector of Revenue also operates a Missouri Department of Revenue License office. Annual collections produce over $600,000,000 in revenue. These funds are distributed to sixteen different taxing agencies, improvement districts, and the City of St. Louis.
The Collector of Revenue office for the City ofSt. Louisis a County office under Missouri State Statutes. St. Louis is the only city within the state that acts as its own county. The position of Collector of Revenue is a city-wide elected office. Gregory F.X. Daly was sworn in as the current Collector of Revenue on March 5, 2007.
